British comedians David Walliams and Matt Lucas are back for another series of their brilliant sketch series, Little Britain, with new characters and even more bizarre content. After taking the U.K. by storm via digital cable, Series 2 debuted on BBC1, where it reached a mass audience, albeit with some sketches slightly edited for content. You get the full experience on these DVDs, though, and Series 2 is much raunchier than the first, including sketches wherein obese health-spa fanatic Bubbles DeVere runs around naked and 25-year-old Harvey Pincher breastfeeds from his mother. New additions to the cast of characters include not-very-good transvestite Emily Howard's new friend, "Florence" (complete with mustache); Carol, the bank loan officer whose computer "says no" to every request; Linda, the most un-P.C. college guidance counselor possible; Judy and Maggie, two octogenarians who can never seem to taste the right jams at the fair; and Viv Tudor, who thinks everything is "gorgeous." Walliams and Lucas revive past favorites as well, including Dr. Laurence and his patient Anne, who only speaks full sentences when she's on her cell phone; Marjorie and the Fat Fighters, who return for the battle of the bulge; fan favorite Daffyd, "the only gay in the village"; and Buffy's Anthony Stewart Head, reprising his role as the prime minister who is harried by his gay assistant, Sebastian. And like the previous series, this set is jam-packed with extras, such as a documentary on the creation of the second series; a Comic Relief special and its outtakes; an interview at Britain's National Film Theatre; over 50 minutes of deleted sketches; interviews with U.K. radio personality Chris Moyles and talk show host Jonathan Ross; a short bit from morning talks show hosts Richard and Judy; and an alternative Daffyd sketch (that only aired on the BBC1) featuring his induction into Llandewi Breffi's police force.
